Designersblock Opening Party With several openings taking over London's East End last night, the Designersblock crew once again filled the massive Nicholas and Clarke Building with a diverse collection of young designers presenting their wares. The space really is a labyrinth and one can't help but feel a little overwhelmed by the volume of great stuff to get through (and buy). Core favorites DIY Kyoto offered party goers the chance to 'win a wattson', the interactive energy consumption device and Hulger presented the new bases for their mobile phone handsets which you'll see featured in the upcoming film 'Children of Men' as the phone used by the Ministry for Defense. Also on display, a selection of prototypes from the Hulgeristaion project they did with St Martins College.
Closing the exhibit up at 10-sharpish, the party kicked on the Designersblock bar/nightclub space next door with live band, DJ and more drinks. As London seems to have been blessed with a second coming of summer this week, many chose to enjoy the evening in the courtyard outside.
Icon Magazine's 40th Issue Party Just down the road - literally - Icon magazine celebrated their 40th issue at the T Bar with an authentic nightclub door queue, a slamming dance floor and a roof you could touch in parts. All the right elements to get things hot enough for a good night out and the best shower ever when you get home.
