The Emerging World of Drone Racing. Also, "Top Gun 2"
Can the TV producers tap into the video feed from the drones? If so, that could make for some amazing and exciting footage. I see a lot of potential with this
It was the Navy, not the Air Force- thus the landing on ships. Sorry- I'm where design and nerd overlap, and sometimes I can't help myself.
Good catch, fixed!
As a Navy veteran, I'm mostly offended that Maverick retired from the Air Force. That traitor!
I've been following the drone racing thing with some mild curiosity but from afar.
The benefits will come when the games have live obstacles, aerial combat between drones while racing, and the drones are a little more meaty. I look forward to teams pulling out drones that have been meticulously hot-rodded and seeing them fail mid-flight or have to engage in battery-swaps mid-race.
Oh and VR. When a viewer can throw on a google cardboard or Oculus Rift or Gear VR and watch the POV race in full VR is when it gets fun to watch.
