This guy lathed 256 Crayola crayons into a weird little vase and it's making me reconsider my monochromatic lifestyle and clean shop policies.
Fun starts around 1:50. Really fun stuff around 2:40. Crayon tips at the beginning and end.
After soothingly sorting enough crayons to blow an elementary schooler's mind, he melts them to build up a pretty impressive brick of waxy color. The lathing (like all lathing) is hypnotic, and his technique for leveling the finished vase gets a solid A+.
Would I recommend doing this in your own shop? Absolutely. But only if you're not bothered by dousing yourself in sticky colorful chips that probably outstay their welcome as fast as glitter.
