Beyond the Eameses: Seven Things You Might Not Know About L.A.'s Rich Design History
Along with Ken’s observation, it would have been fitting to at least mention early LA resident and noted African-American architect, Paul R. Williams in addition to Pereira: <http://www.paulrwilliamsproject.org/gallery/1960s-transportation/> • William’s compelling story should be told more in design and architectural circles. (Look-up his reasoning for rendering drawings upside down, a historical survival method that is more known in the Black designer community.) Please see <http://www.usc.edu/dept/pubrel/trojan_family/spring04/williams1.html> as well.
Great Article!
Thanks for your note -- You're correct, Lautner did not design the LAX Theme Building, I had simply meant to use the image as another example of Googie architecture, but I see now the confusion. I've updated the caption with more info and anyone who's interested in reading more about the Theme Building should check out this link: https://www.laconservancy.org/locations/theme-building-lax
