We love the hands-on effort with this project: In order to shed light on unneeded overconsumption and the accelerated production of trash, frog design technologist Ashley Menger will go without a trash can for the next two weeks blogging her experience on Trash Talk, as part of frog's current green initiative. After her two-week shift is complete, another frog will take over the task and experience "trash-free" living.
Who am I? I love disposable Jell-O pudding cups. I have designed five packaging schemes that are in full production. I recycle when I see a recycling bin. My landlord has a compost pile that I barely use. I feel a tinge of guilt, but really, it's not my problem yet...
But that's not the person I want to be. I truly want to make a difference. From a high level, I have always felt that our massive garbage production is senseless, and have never been afraid to say so. Yet I'm starting to feel the hypocrisy of espousing this green goal without living it on a personal level, on a daily basis. I have observed my own wasteful behaviors, and have a lot of changes to make.
Jeannie is a true jack-of-all trades, looks forward to a day gone swimmingly, and finds joy in all things awesome. Brilliant art, rocking the renegade music scene, conjuring up haute designs, other people's hot designs, tasty salad, trashy magazines and unicorns are some of the many things she is passionate about.
