A Springy "New" Take On A 100 Year Old Bike Problem
There was a softride hack back in the day (not saying it was a great system or that it was a bad system ...it was what it was. )
some folks would setup a cable with a small turnbuckle (sort of like a backwards slingshot bike) to preload the beam to tune (firm u) the response.
it was a hack b/c you had to sort of go back and forth with unloaded saddle height then deal with the delta from the preload
Most of my better fitted saddles work great for the first 30 minutes, then get progressively worse. But I have a theory I should test out...if I swapped out a new seat each 30 minutes I bet I could be quite comfortable for as long as I'd like.
Many people changed their mind about comfort after a trip with Rinsten Spring. Even on a bicycle with full amortization, comfort becomes higher. I created this product for myself, but getting a lot of positive feedback from people who tried Rinsten Spring, I realized that this product will be needed by many cyclists. It is not suitable for people who want to win the Tour de France, measure in millimeters the ideal landing in the saddle, consider every gram of weight.

Minor changes to a bike seat is solving the wrong problem. The problem *is* the bike seat. Try a design that does not put any pressure on the perineum.
If your bike seat is placing pressure on your perineum... then you need a new seat. This is a solved problem in seat design many times over. Many reasonable local bike shops will size you for a seat and point you in the right direction.
Seats are designed to place nearly all of their pressure on the sit bones. If the seat isn't... then it doesn't fit you properly.
I've never had a seat that fits then in 10 years of biking. been to a half dozen shops, tried 8 seats plus different kinds of padding. no joy. I ended up staying off the bike when the damage caused by the seat gave me 3 yrs of chronic pelvic pain.
