Steven M. Johnson's Bizarre Invention #122: The Slipper, a Hybrid Car-Within-a-Car
The silly idea of having a smaller car inside a larger car is not new with me. When I was having cartoons published monthly for the SIERRA CLUB BULLETIN (renamed SIERRA) in the early 1970s, this drawing was included in an article, "False Starts in Detroit, along with five other concept drawings. It was published in the November/December issue. The vehicle was called a "Pontiac Grand Prix Hardtop Garage." It was permanently parked on one's suburban driveway. The car you could afford to drive used this car as its garage.
