Clever Tool Design, Bold Entrepreneurship: The Story of the American-Made LogOX
Excellent article, Rain. I recall first reading about this tool on Core77 last year, and thought it was interesting. Reading the full story really creates an appreciation of all the work that went into making it happen.
It's a very good tool for its intended purpose of breaking down medium-sized trees. If you're clearing out rotten yucca or just smaller branches in general it's sadly not great at getting much of a grip on them and you'll be better off with a dedicated timberjack that has more teeth on it. Or even just some sawhorses.
"Rain Noe is a writer and industrial designer based in New York City." <— seems like this is out of date?
