For the past month, the Swiss mountain village of Zermatt has been projecting both messages and flags of various countries onto the nearby Matterhorn. Every day from 9:30pm until midnight local time, the mountain is illuminated by light artist Gerry Hofstetter, whom the village commissioned.
With this light projection, Zermatt wants to give people a sign of hope and solidarity in these difficult times. The village shows solidarity with all the people who are currently suffering and is grateful to all those who are helping to overcome the crisis.
Stay at home - you can follow the spectacle live via webcams.
If you don't recognize some of the flags, you're likely not alone; some aren't national flags, but belong to Swiss cantons. (You can read which here.)
The messages appear to be printed in English:
If you want to work out the difference to your time zone and tune in live, the webcams are here.
