Design Zoo
Design Zoo Show is part of a capstone class in the BFA program. It is created by graphic designers in the graduating class of 2020 at Wichita State University. The concept of the show is Design Zoo - Creation, Adaptation and it showcases the work students have produced during their studies at WSU. Just as animals adapt to their natural habitat to survive, graduates of class 2020 are showcasing how they are adapting to their design habitats.

Adriana De La O
Hello! My name is Adriana De La O and I am a senior in the Graphic Design program at Wichita State University. I am excited to graduate this May and use my education and experience to create a successful future for myself and my family. My favorite areas of design are UX/UI and web design but hope to increase my knowledge and improve my execution on motion graphics and branding design also. Entering college I decided to study engineering for about 2 and a half to 3 years until I decided that I had a passion calling me elsewhere. As an engineering student, I enjoyed learning basic coding and working in microsoft access to create simple programs that were mainly used as database systems, but my favorite part of these projects were always making them look as great as they worked. After exploring my options, I found graphic design and decided to take a chance on measuring success by happiness and not success by monetary value which is a big reason why I was pursuing engineering in the first place. I have always loved art and design but had never allowed myself to explore it because of expectations from family and friends, but I am so thankful for the opportunity to be accepted into the program and now graduate with my BFA in Graphic Design. Other than school and design, my hobbies include photography and makeup application but I especially love spending time with loved ones! Being a first generation university student with a Mexican cultural background, I am excited to create paths to success and set an example to my siblings that anything is possible with hard work, determination, and faith. Thank you!

Hello! My name is Adriana De La O and I am a senior in the Graphic Design program at Wichita State University. This project was to aid a non-profit organization in event planning. An event was created and branded to fit the organization's own brand as well as appeal to people of all ages. The event was a benefit concert complete with posters, programs, high donor invitations, postcards, staff ID tags, VIP wristbands, and a website.

Briley gets a massive amount of joy from seeing incredible designs all around her and sharing it with others. She loves waking up in the morning and finding tons of inspiration on her Instagram. It's a big part of her day. When Briley isn't designing she absolutely loves going to concerts, spinning the "classics" on her record player, baking, and spending quality time with her boyfriend and their close friends. Her dream is to one day have the ability to incorporate her passion for music related to design into her career.

Jamie Staggs
Jamie Staggs is a graphic designer who enjoys working with vector design and creating print material. She hopes to one day design books but is also interested in all sorts of other types of graphic design along the way. Her favorite part of the design process is moving ideas from sketchbook to program and making all the tweaks and iterations of a design that leads to a good final product. Jamie enjoys various hobbies as well, and can often be observed playing trumpet, writing, swimming, and rowing.

While wrapping up my senior year of college, I am enjoying my position as the President of the Graphic Design Guild at WSU and being involved with Wichita's AIGA chapter. My graphic design interests include layout and icon design, as well as illustration.
One thing that I am passionate about is connections - connections between people, events, and stories. It is amazing to me how stories can unfold when you just try something, even if it seems out of reach. My desire is to use my designs to connect people with each other and to make connections between myself and the people I look up to. I want to spread sunshine and good design!
