Fifteen years after bringing the art form known as "gift guide" to the Internet we are reaching into our back catalog for a classic edition to remix. In 2012 we introduced *The Seven Designer Phenotypes* to the world both online and in a pair of pop-up stores. Now, we're turning the original idea over to our community of designers for an updated take on these classic archetypes. Recognize yourself among these? Then add those items that meet your standards for designer-to-designer gifting. Thank you to our sponsors and community. Illustrations by Tony Ruth.
2020 Core77 Ultimate Gift Guide Rules
We want to see your extra-special gift ideas for this holiday season!
This year, we’re doing our Ultimate Gift Guide a little differently, and we need your help to fill our guides up with amazing gift suggestions! This year, Core77 editors have organized gift guides under specific themes and are asking readers to lend their expertise. Readers are invited to submit their own suggestions for guides—anyone who sends a gift suggestion and their product is accepted will be added to a gift raffle! We're looking for honest, unbiased suggestions, so be sure to send us a product suggestion you can truly vouch for.
Here’s how the competition works:
Find a guide where you have a gift suggestion that fits well into the theme. Submit your product suggestions to any of our existing gift guides before Thursday, December 17th, 2020, and your name will be entered into our sponsor prize raffle. You’re allowed to suggest as many products as you like (1 product listed = 1 entry in our raffle), so go wild. Additionally, you can enter by upvoting an existing entry. However, you’ll be entered only once for voting, regardless of how many votes you make. Come December 18th, three winners will be drawn from our sponsor prize raffle entries to win one of our prize options: a product bundle provided by Areaware, multipurpose bag + pencil set provided by Atelier Yul or an Idea Toolset from Baronfig!
Find gift items and submit them to each of our seven themed guides, once they are approved and published you will entered in the Participation raffle. Last day to enter is Thursday, December 17th, 2020. To be eligible for this prize readers must have seven gift suggestions published*, one to each designer gift guide. There will be one winner drawn at random on December 18th, they will receive a Deadstock Alexander Girard Memory Game by House Industries.
The first 20 readers who have seven gift suggestions published*, one to each designer gift guide, will win the First 20 prize pack. Submissions close December 17, 2020. Prize pack includes: Deadstock hat, 1980’s safety glasses, and never-released eyeglass case from The Legendary Hand-Eye Supply.
