Tricycle, a fast-growing innovator in sustainable solutions for the interiors industry, has now distributed over 100,000 SIM digitally modeled carpet samples to eco-minded architects and designers since they first began their Environmental Report Card program in August 2004.
SIM from Tricycle reduces the waste generated in product development, sampling and merchandising, and at the same time enables carpet manufacturers to deliver a greater number of options to designers with less cost. Accurate, realistic, digitally modeled SIM can be viewed online or as 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper prints, delivered within 24 hours of request. These SIMs translate to more than 25,000 gallons of oil not used to make samples, and 150,000 pounds of carpet samples that will not be discarded and landfilled because they were never manufactured in the first place. If 100,000 SIMs were stacked, they would reach a height of 83 feet tall, every inch of it recyclable; if an equivalent number of carpet samples were stacked, they would reach the height of the Chrysler building, twice over. As a result of Tricycle's sampling program, the interiors industry has experienced a positive economic impact of more than $19 million.
