Hahn created an intriguing installation in which he approached the world of Staud's by poetically addressing color, material and the meaning of preserving for winter time. Each of the various vessels on display seemed to capture all the good stuff that summer has to offer; almost like a time capsule, recallable during a long, cold winter.
Despite exporting their jams worldwide, Staud's preserves are created without the use of any chemical additives. Having adopted the same methodology of purity, Hahn's jars speak a similar language of simplicity on a formal level.
Mr. Staud enjoys personally standing behind the counter of his shop, which he says is not just a place to buy his products, but one to "meet, taste and linger."
The project successfully managed to transfer the qualities and philosophy of a certain business into a design language, highlighting a core principle of the Passionswege program—creating new angles to look at local businesses.
