It's not often that we get excited about a laptop that weighs 8.5 pounds, but the Lenovo W700 caught our eye on the AU exhibition floor yesterday for a couple of reasons. Mainly, it was the built-in Wacom digitizer and massive (1900 x 1200) display, making it a viable and (more or less) portable replacement for the Intuos + cinema display set up so many designers have tethered to their desktops.

Being Lenovo, they've also crammed it with more memory and processing power than most towers (quad core processor, up to 8GB RAM and 960GB of storage), and threw in a built-in color calibrator as well. The next generation will even have a second monitor that slides out from behind the first, for all you multi-screen addicts. Quick and dirty video here:
