Tio by Conscious Design is this years winner of the BeST Design Awards category: sustainable products.

Tio is a lounge chair that balances between product and fashion designed and manufactured in New Zealand. This crafted piece of furniture can be 'dressed' in a range of fabrics by New Zealand's leading fashion designers. "Think of it like a wardrobe for your living room." Further, "Good design embraces the realities and limitations of the environment" says Conscious Design. This is why Tio is made from local materials using pine wood sourced from local sustainable plantations.

The BeST Design Awards are a national award programme of dinz (Designers Institute of New Zealand). Sustainable products is a new category added to the New Zealand Design institute awards this year in order to create a higher profile for sustainable design within the New Zealand design industry.
