
Returned to the main fair today to catch the satellite show. This is really the grassroots level of the industry and emphasizes just how tough the competition is with a mixture of hopeful young designers and universities presenting mainly prototypes. Pictured above: 'light sheet' for bare light bulbs in the house from the 'Inspired by men' collection, 'cutting up knives', a limited production of selected knives transformed into bottle openers, a prototype chair by Georgio Saltos, the first New Zealander ever invited to exhibit in the satellite show and a conceptual modular living space 'Yaptim-Bozdum' by Turkish Designers Demet Bilici and Beritan Firat Arik.

The Triennale Di Milano hosted a number of exhibitions, the first two shots are from the 'Japan Design - Good Design Award 50 Years' retrospective, followed by the presentation of the Nespresso Design Contest submissions.

TuttoBeNe exhibition. There was a somewhat melancholiac atmosphere today due to break in last night where a large number of pieces were stolen.

'Transformer', an exhibition of conceptual projects curated by OPOS, above 'exact' by Ernest Perera, ICO Lampada Lamp by Gianmaria Sforza and the 'Diet Belt' by Marco Cimatti.
