All we've got is this shit cameraphone picture, but it was a grand (and very swanky) party last night to celebrate DO's fifth year: the music was loud, the back room was sweaty, and the mood was beyond celebratory (at least in New York city) coming off the election results. Here are the bold faced names spotted on the dance floor:

Design Observer founders Jessica Helfand, William Drenttel and Michael Bierut were the hosts, secret-handshaking with drink tickets, offering up DO t-shirts (well, the whole name's spelled out on the shirt), and making everyone feel welcome. (One of the founders was caught sneaking out to Katz's for a snack later in the evening. Jealous.) Also spotted on the dance floor were Alice Twemlow and David Womack, Seymour Chwast, Liz Danzico, Debbie Millman, Gary Hustwit, Rob Giampietro, Rob Giampietro's brother, Lisa Strausfeld, Niti Bhan, Tina Roth Eisenberg, Adam Levy and Cindy, and Kevin Smith.

And a pile of others of course, who we were too shy to talk to. Maybe at the 10th. Congratulations Design Observer!
