BEIJING DESIGN WEEK 2012While Slovenian architect Bruno Urh has been designing buildings and spaces for some two decades now, his venture into furniture design is not as far afield as his diverse practice in everything from poetry to mountaineering. (At least according to his Wikipedia page, translated from his mother tongue.)
Details about the "Chair for Janez Suhadolc" are scarce, but I think it's safe to assume that Urh studied with the namesake of the chair at the University of Ljubljana.
Personally, I think it refers to a certain machine—"two wheels and a frame," as they say—for which I have a strong affinity, though it's dizzying curves invite a closer look.
Urh's 100+ page dissertation, "Holotecture," is available online. It's in English, but it ain't light reading by any means...

mentioning bikes is ok, but a mention for the apparant inspitation from Picasso's bull's head (itself based on a bike seat and handlebars) should probably be added.
