I'm heavily digging the Rudi pendant lamp, by Vancouver-based designer and Eindhoven grad Lukas Peet. A bent brass tube holds the cold cathode lighting tube; the power cable is knotted around the top for strain relief. That's it.

The photos don't convey scale—the standard Rudi is actually three feet tall and eleven inches wide, with a slightly narrower seven-inch-wide version shown below.

It also comes in this Double Loop version, but while that adds lighting brilliance, I feel it kind of detracts from the other kind of brilliance, meaning the simplicity of the design.

Now for the "ouch" factor: This type of beauty doesn't come cheap! Manufacturer Roll & Hill is selling these babies for US $2,700 to $4,500 for the double.

That is some PRICEY simplicity, but i'm "heavily digging" as well.
Brilliant, there will surely be cheaper mass produced versions. He says with incredible optimism.
