Summer's almost over, so we wish we'd discovered this picnic-basket-alternative earlier: Plastica's Bento Box, which comes in both squared and rounded shapes and is dishwasher safe (though you can't nuke 'em). If Little Red Riding Hood had 38 bucks and any design sense at all, she'd have been toting one of these around.

They remind me of the Indian lunch boxes. They are made of metal, though cylindrical in form they have the same stacking and fastening mechanism.
