Mr. Bangle killed the BMW design.
Mr. Bangle changed the tired, old idea of BMW design, and in doing so, influenced all of design. There may be naysayers and there may be those who love what he's done, but think about this: if BMW (and not just Bangle, this was a team effort) didn't do what they did, would an interview with Bangle be posted on core? If anything, Bangle and his team got the design world, in all facets, to discuss design and its merits.
Personally, I have no problem with the new design direction. And hell, with the 7 series, the first of the new designs, being the best selling 7 series of all time, I think they are doing something right.
