What we really like about the Lessev Charging Station, top (and to a lesser degree, the Bedford Smart Recharge Station, bottom) is the way the cable holes are dealt with. Designer Takafumi Nemoto's elegant six-pointed "icon" has solved the problem of how to pass a large coupling through a surface without leaving behind a gaping hole. The gods are in the details.

Charging station + sandwich holder, or last nights dinner.
Imagine what your kids will hide in there. Also this isn't really "designed" but used. I'm sure under some study another shape, besides the large square, would prove more functional.
Not only good for cable management, but I can put last nights dinner in it too!
I can also recommend the Charge-Box by http://www.ding3000.com/ (hid away under accessories on their site) which has been on the market for quite some time now. I use it to also hide away USB hubs which has helped reduce the clutter on my desk quite a bit.

Really nice ideas, cause i hate cables. :-)
