Whoa-ho! Dell, the onetime producer of boring beige boxes, pulled the wraps off of their new Dell Inspiron Duo yesterday at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco. Check out the crazy flips-within-a-frame screen:

Engadget's got video of the thing in action, and while you have to sit through a commercial to view the footage, it's worth it to see how clean that screen mechanism looks.

Its good to see how Apple is forcing their competitors to stay in the game. Perhaps, strong inspiration (their competition, Apple) results in strong innovation. : )
Really nice idea. I don't like the flip system, looks weak =/
And about the weight ? Ipad its too heavy with 700g !
Looks more like a toy than a computer/tablet... I worry that the frame will be an easy thing to break...
I like the idea of flipping screen, but it doesn't look like it's thin enough to be used as an e-book reader. Also the frame looks fragile.
I just love how everything positive in the world is now attributed to Apple. It's either a "copy" or an Apple inspiration that Steve Jobs deigned to bestow upon a competitor to keep things interesting. Some of you need to lay off the Kool-Aid.
Looks interesting but like the other comments here I wonder about the weight of the whole thing and the durability of the flip screen.
They obviously made this to compete with the ipad, so I would bet they have done what they can to keep the weight of it around the same as the ipad. Also, if people take proper care of their expensive laptops, you shouldn't have to worry about the frame breaking... either way, I'm sure they took that into consideration as well..
