The Swedish design studio Dizel & Sate have designed the interior and graphic identity of Svartensgatan 7, a salon in the Mosebacke square in Stockholm.
The idea was to capture transparency and light in a rather dark space with limited natural light. The design is futuristic with a color palette in subtle, natural colors juxtaposed with harsh fluorescent lighting. Glass surfaces, light panels and walls are covered by illustrations and typography that capture fictional environments and people in motion.
The designers paid special attention to the visual coordination between the space, the address and the identity. For example, adhering to the lighting concept, two fluorescent tubes depict the number 7 in a glass box, acting as signage. This is repeated on the business card and shopping bags, which are printed with a noisy black and white image of this same idea. Finally, as if that weren't enough, the oblique angles that repeat themselves across the space also represent the number seven, referencing its form.
