Samsung's latest washing machine is gilded, gold plated and in deep rich jewel colours. Designed by Andre Kim, is this taking the recent surge of interest in extreme luxury to new heights?

I'm not sure why, but I really like this. It looks very retro-future.
What's she itching?
Finally! The reason I am in design school was to take on all the old appliances that still, to this day, follow the same rules. This is awesome.
Interst in extreme luxury and in extreme Machismo! Design should not emphasize this overwhelming and still there phenomenon...

Does anyone know where I can find more reference material like this? I'm doing a project for Chinese business women. 35 years old.
One should not confuse the word "Luxury" with "adornment". There is nothing luxurious about doing your own laundry, no matter what the machine is plastered with. This is just tacky adornment, no matter what the material or price tag. Real luxury is having your laundry washed and hung in the closet for you.
Isn't this product an oxymoron? Extreme luxury washing machine? Don't extravagant people have lesser people to do things like loading the wash?
