
University of Wisconsin art student Hongtao Zhou's "Ice & Snow Furniture Raised From Lake Mendota" is the ultimate in recyclable furniture. "They connect the lake, the land, the air and the people and complete a life cycle with minimum environmental impact," explains Zhou. And it is, of course, perfectly fine to dump the furniture back into the lake once it starts getting warm out.

wow. because what i really want to do is sit outside on a frozen chair...
Okay, maybe they're not exactly cozy, but it's a wonderful way to humanize the winter landscape.
Who the heck wants to sit their ass on a frozen surface? I mean, come on. This furniture isn't even practical, even if it is "green". This is more "art" than design.
I love to be there to look at them. If it is art, it is sustainable art.
Sustainable design should learn something from it.
