During the dotcom boom, a friend who worked at one of the big dogs complained to me about the office-wide Aeron chair policy. "After sitting in one for ten hours, you can't go home and sit in a regular chair," she said (leading me to bring to her attention a Russian geographical feature, the "Crimea River").
That point was echoed in an M-Live article describing the Body of Work award given to Herman Miller's Lifework collection, which seeks to make the home office as cush and chic as the office office. With designs by Blu Dot, Industrial Facility, Kaiju Studios and Korb + Korb, Lifework goes on the market in August.

After hearing much about the new Herman Miller Lifework Portfolio launched in May at the 2008 International Contemporary Furniture Fare, I finally got a peek at their new line of home office furnishings at ABC Carpet and Home in New York this October.
I have to say, Herman Miller has done it again! From what I saw, the entire line is beautifully designed and very diverse. Aside from the classic Nelson and Eames desks, my favorite desk is called the Airia. Its silhouette is beautiful. It is light, elegant and the cool thing is it has an area in the back that hides all the cord clutter. And the walnut finish is very nice. The other one that really stuck out was the Enchord Desk. Simple, compact and smart. They're too cool to tuck away in a home office and could almost be in your living room.
Herman Miller continues to impress and the Lifework Portfolio proves their design sense once again!
