From MIT Technology Review comes this beauty - they took it apart and here is the part by part breakdown of what's inside the iPod Nano.
Inside every gadget a hundred stories lurk: What innovative memory, battery, or LCD design does it use? Where did the components come from and how do they work together? What previous design weaknesses needed fixing? And, maybe most important: How can users make the device work better for them?

the ipod nano had already took apart by some tech web site long time ago just right after its release, I remember it was discovered that it used samsung memory, sorry but this is really old news
There seems to be no end to this sort of article - let's take apart some new gadget?! Esp an iPod. I admit I don't fully get it. I haven't seen hacks in these articles, mostly a total price of the components being the big output.
