iPhone...yes, iPhone

First of all, check out our hot new wide-screen blog for your viewing pleasure, featuring this enormous iPhone image to gild the lily just a bit.

Second of all, let's take a moment to agree that it is not the iPhone's killer good looks that take the cake, although it is certainly looking quite slim, trim, and smokin' hot. The insane multitouch interface (remind you of something?) is what's really getting our hearts racing and our jowls salivating...too bad we have to wait until June! (oh--and too bad it's on Cingular.Barf.)

I don't get it... it doesn't look any better than any other phone...and I wish it was ipod white...and 599$??

natedogJanuary 10, 2007 4:41 AM

I think Apple is shooting themselves in the foot with this one.

joelJanuary 10, 2007 8:08 AM

erm ... i don't mean to spoil the fun
but
my current phone can play music, videos, connect to the web, has bluetooth etc.
the apparent continuing convergence of pda and phone is nice, but every manufacturer under the sun must surely be about to bring out something similar.
new o2 xda, sony eric P900 thing, etc etc

so we are left with the look:
a bit square and not that far off the new sony ericsson slidy phone
and the screen:
will it work well?
scratching?
nice size though, like an old pda...

Seems some people (including me) expected an Ipod with a keypad. While others may be disappointed, I'm glad they went all out. This is big stuff here, finally a phone that really seems to intergrate everything and considering Apple's record, it should be pretty seamless. With a price like that though I can't afford it. Will there be enough takers?

MEPJanuary 10, 2007 10:07 PM

Are people still at CES or did they just close it down after Tuesday?

thomasJanuary 11, 2007 4:40 AM

Now its official Apple is the new Microsoft.
Selling you the same things over and over again, copieing from other and feed the perception that you invented it.
Why do I need to buy another Ipod just to have one extra funtionality (that is phone).
And the design is rlly sucky and hastly done. Look at that metallic (painted?) rim (havent they learned anything from the nano. And it looks like a cadillac, buick, lincoln...al examples of American over-the-top-bad-taste.
Also multi-touch is not new. Nothing is new. Same sh*t new package. There was a time when I apploaded Apple...But like most good stories they tend to NOT last.
Rlly why is the Iphone not a small module that you can click on your collar (alike new Ipod shuffle)? Placed between your Ipod and ears. Some new software and there you go. For 50$ it's yours and every Ipod user would buy one.

..So its official apple are Moneyhuggers and they think we are idiots...altough some of us are.

Plz ppl be more sceptic to all these new products. It's not because they make it that we should buy it.

Guess progress means I'll now have to be looking at the screen in order to change the volume, skip to the next song, hit mute, ignore a call, dial a number, etc. Does noone like tactile feedback anymore?
