By forcing the user to climb a ladder to turn the light on, Janitor Lamp, by Trokk16, is designed to make you question your need to use electricity at all. The lamp is made of solid wood ash, and debuted last week in Milan.

the result would be the inverse of the proposed concept.
I would climb the ladder, and then leave the light on, not wanting to climb back up to turn it off.
the purpose of the lamp is to create light, so the user is more likely to want to 'use' the lamp, rather than not... leaving the lamp on.
very interesting concept though.
super super simple solution:
the ON switch is at the top of the ladder.
the OFF switch is at the bottom.
there, I'm a genius.
realistically, I would just assemble the ladder from the box, turn it on, set it up, and then just plug and unplug the cord from the wall when I want to switch on or off, ha!
