Here's another lo-fi remake of Achille Castiglioni's iconic Arco lamp, named "Arq" in honor of. The lamp was devised by Beplushave, a design studio brand located in Torino, Italy.
The construction is simple: Instead of marble, a chunk of knotty wood; instead of steel, PVC pipes spray-painted with a water-based coat; instead of a shade, a diffuse bulb. The only thing missing is the puncture in the base, originally used to move the heavy marble block around with a broomstick; still, that's echoed in the little hole where the cord threads through.

A couple more shots after the jump.
