The downside to being a design blogger is that you are always reading up on things you can never afford, which becomes painfully obvious when you're furnishing your own apartment. I'm currently in the market for a 'fridge, and I liked it better when I'd never heard of Meneghini and thought all refrigerators were just plain boxes in white or stainless steel with maybe a little curve here and there.
In contrast Meneghini makes refrigerators resembling old iceboxes, and has been since the mid '90s.

The handmade machines represent "a personal revision of the past, carried out with style and a particular spirit," and have cool touches like exposed hinges and little portholes. But yeah, they're only sold in their home market of Italy, along with the Ukraine, Russia, and the United Kingdom--and they run five freakin' figures! Looks like I'll be getting a plain silver box by LG.

Nothing compared, but a closer way to get something similar is to buy that old ones, restored or not. Whirlpool used to sell a retro line in green, red and blue.. I dont know if they do it anymore. But they have that mini (cute) fridge... its an affordable option, although less interesting.. hehehe (these Meneghinis are sooo perfect :/)
very good initiative. When design meets the fifties. I also love the industrial design side
