Man invented writing, then one of Man's younger, weird cousins that went to art school started writing small. Really small.

So here it is, A History of Tiny Writing. From a Sumerian cuneiform clay tablet less than two square inches, to WWII-era Germans hiding codewords in "microdots" disguised as periods, to IBM writing their logo with atoms, people have been seeking to shrink the printed word to something smaller than common sense for thousands of years. And we've finally discovered why! But we shrunk the answer down and put it in this little dot, below:
