We're loving Australia-based artist Rebecca Baumann's "Automated Colour Field," which she rigged up out of 100 flip-clocks with their numbers covered by different hues of paper. It was on display earlier this year at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in Melbourne (see video after of the piece after the jump!)
As you'll see in this time-lapse of the installation below, the beautiful thing is the clocks aren't physically connected or networked; they're battery-operated and simply flip their individual faces each minute, with their timing randomly staggered according to when the batteries were inserted.

Neat-O! I've always loved those clocks.
Cool! I counted 200 flip clocks by the way.
Nup only 100 clocks - each one has an LH and RH half, so there are 200 "fields"
