At a run-time of 4:16 this video is wayyy too long for a commercial, but load it and fast-forward to 1:04 and 1:37 to see the awesome Henge Dock in action. It's basically a one-step way to attach your MacBook to an external monitor/keyboard/mouse set-up, obviating the need to plug or unplug every single cable (six in my case) when you want to move it.
I'm curious to try one because I have an extra flatscreen I bought for cut-rate prices from an office that shut down during the recession, and I've been wanting to mount it in my kitchen; sometimes I'm watching something at the laptop on my desk and I want to be able to quickly move it into the kitchen, to continue watching while cooking, and I don't want to run network cables all over the place.
Also, the plugging-a-vertical-rectangle-into-a-slot thing reminds me of something from years ago:

What's freaking amazing is that those cartidges held a whopping 4k and provided hours of entertainment. (The Word file I'm typing this on is 25k and you'll read it for a few seconds.)

Atari design lives - awesome! haha! ;)
Product or pipe dream? Looks cool, but don't try to sell me stuff that doesn't exist. Really have no interest in signing up to be notified when Henge actually HAS the product to sell. PASS.
it's Unbeliavble! I had the same concept idea two or three months ago! OMG!
what's the point of removing the ability to run a MBP w/ two screens? this makes no sense. i've never seen anyone with an external monitor who doesn't use their macbook at the same time.
@Jeff - I fully agree, how could you justify that and lose the second monitor. Just doesn't make sense. Dual monitors are the way of the future and one of the main reasons to get a dock in the first place!
