Humans since 1982 just sent us their new design, with strings attached:
We created a new polarizing product. With our lounge "Celebrating the cross 1" we want to: 1. Show that the cross has not only a semiotic meaning but also a practical function. 2. Celebrate a new practical function of the "cross."
Talk about cross-sectional!

design for art's sake or vice versa? I had always wished my crosses were more functionally practical
can't tell if the string makes a specific design or not.... too bad if it doesn't - could really TIE everything together
:P
Can we just call this two intersecting planes? No one is being nailed......and well, it could be just a transparent paper-weight, book thingy. Right?
wow. yes, the cross DID have a function: to nail roman prisoners to it, and now is a symbol for an entire string of religions. What a way to trivialize it, for the sake of shock. Doesn't even solve anything in a clever way.
big fat MEH.
This is not a crucifix; this is a cross. There is a difference.
A crucifix has an image of Jesus nailed on the cross, and is primarily used by Catholics; Protestants largely abandoned the use of images of saints and of Jesus after the reformation because they considered it contrary to the commandment (from the ten commandments) "do not make any graven images" to kneel/bow down to, etc. Protestants usually display crosses, Catholics usually display crucifixes.
Using established icons and providing a different kind of interaction makes you think. There are a lot of push and pull aesthetics about the icon in this new fruition. I consider myself Christian although I am not hung up on the cross as a symbol of my worship. I am intrigued by the object because part of me wants to know how it would feel.
So I wanted some quick, cheap notoriety... So i chose religion as my theme and went from there....
they might as well show a certain Salman Rushdie book stored on this
Yeah i could design a crescent sofa and a star table and them everyone would tell me how much offensive i am...
YESSSS!! It is the nu rave ID interpretation of the popular french electro due Justice. BWAAAAAAAAAA!!!! GASPAAAAARD!!!!
Even for what it's *trying* to be, it's mediocre.
