Prices are up, real estate is underwater, if you still have a job you're not getting a raise, and the stock market lost 38.5 percent just over the last year. So if you're one of the crowd feeling squeezed by the current economic climate and are forced to go on a recession diet we found a solution to help tighten your belt.
The Tough Times Belt Puncher, developed by Brooklyn-based SONIC Design, uses a 3-disc adjustment mechanism allowing the user to dial in their annual net income and estimated cost of living. The integrated hole punch is positioned an appropriate distance from the last hole according to the economic situation and personal needs of the user.
Of course if you need this tool you won't be able to afford to buy one. But we're hoping that some of the stimulus plan can be set aside to produce a few hundred thousand of these for distribution to needy folks.

I really like this idea, and the design of the product but I wonder how much it is to buy - sometimes items like this cost more than the novelty value they should.
