Treleela tea design by Ineeka

Treleela
is Ineeka's new boutique "tea experience" that not only yields a tasty cup of tea, but also involves a holistic approach to the tea drinking process. Ineeka's own family farms produce the 100% organic whole leaf teas with environment and sustainability in mind. The convenient "pochettes" make for a truly unique steeping method where the user places the wings over the sides of a cup, and then pours hot water over the opening.

I'm drinking a cup of Green Limon right now...

My main problem with this tea (which is otherwise excellent) is that the tabs sometimes cave in on my jumbo huge coffe mug. On a regular sized cup it works fint though.

i haven't used it myself yet, but a friend of mine was left less than satisfied with the convenience of the "pochette"

"the tea bag has little paper handles that you slide over the edges of the mug. then you rip the top of the bag off to make kind of a loose-leaf tea strainer, pour the water over/through it, and let it steep til its done at which point you pull the now-strainer out and drink. it uses big leaves and flowery herby things so it should look pretty as it steeps too.

the problem is the handles always slip off the sides of the mug (sometimes as you are pouring water through, sometimes afterwards unexpectedly) so then you have loose tea floating around your mug in big chunks. of course if you are me you drink it anyway. but it costs too much for such ineffectual design! i could just buy bulk tea and eat it if i were into that kind of experience."

This is probably one of my most favorite teas. The taste is remarkable and the metal box is useful for storing things (I put my ipod in one of them after lining it with nice cloth).

The earlier comments on the "handles" of the tea bag are fair, however, I mitigate this with a rubber band around the mug or by bending the "wings" at both bend points so that the arms stick straight out. Oh, and it's best to use water that's piping boiling hot.

The company owns it's own farms, they school the employee's children, provide for them well (see http://www.hudin.com/tea_reviews/ineeka/ ), and they don't use 'flavorings" or oils. They are selective on which leaves they use (see review I linked to, and their website).

Yes, the nice metal box and the deisgn of the disposable tea infuser are probably overkill. Fine. For those who would rather save a buck and deal with their own loose tea - that's fine too. However, the tea itself is literally some of the best I have had in my life. Oh, I don't work for Ineeka, I am a paid computer geek.
