We wrote in an earlier post about how bees are disappearing, but Tomas Gabzdil Libertiny coaxed the ones that stuck around into making this cool vase.
Approximately 40,000 bees took a week to complete the vase. It made its debut at the Droog booth at Milan, where it generated a lot of...buzz (sorry). Libertiny Design oversaw the project and came up with the "technology," which they're calling "slow prototyping."
So how did Libertiny pull this one off? The truth is, they enrolled all of the bees at RISD and showed them a CAD drawing.
