No surprise. For anyone who has spent time on the Google Earth forum, it was pretty obvious that SketchUp was in tight with Google.
The question in my mind is whether it'll be provided for free. There are already exporters to Google Earth for a variety of 3D apps (including a free plug-in for Maya which I use).
The plan according to their press release is to keep the software at $495. It is awesome fun to use. Very good for quick 'n dirty 3D sketches.
