Kyle A Koch, an industrial design student at the University of Cincinnati's school of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP), has designed a kind of copystand for the iphone constructed out of corrugated cardboard. This looks like a nice DIY project, and if the iPhone's lack of a macro setting is bumming you out, at least you'll know that all the shots you take with this device will be in focus.

When I got my iPhone last year I loved having everything important in one place, and the ability to get rid of unnecessary devices, documents and information I kept with me. I would frequently snap photos of class assignments printed on copy paper so I wouldn't have to worry about losing them. The documents normally came out pretty clear, but it was tough to keep still while taking the pictures. I set out to make something that would ensure clean, consistent pictures of documents taken with the iPhone that would be free and easy to make on your own. And so, here you will find pictures of and a link to a template to make your own iPhone document scanner.

way to represent DAAP buddy. This is awesome.
I'm starting DAAP in two weeks, and with only a vague idea of what to expect, this is a really exciting thing to see!
DAAP = Amazing. There is so much talent and innovation at DAAP it is ridiculous. I'll be graduating this coming spring, and I can honestly say that my 5 years at DAAP have been extremely rewarding.
