Two words familiar to those of us who went to ID school in decades past: blue snot. Cutting into blue foam, so ubiquitous for modelmaking, with primitive tools like hot wires and sheetrock knives, we often breathed in enough of the dust to turn kleenexes a rather disgusting shade of azure.
Now they've got--for chrissakes--a hot-wire CNC rig that cuts foam with an absurd amount of precision, meaning the material can be used for a heckuva lot more than models. Watching these tools in action, I feel nothing but envy:
