I think wingsuit flyer Jeb Corliss, or anyone who would strap on a suit modeled after a flying squirrel and jump off of a cliff, is insane. I'm also amazed he's still alive. In his latest video, "Grinding the Crack," Corliss leaps off of a mountaintop in what looks to be Lausanne, Swizerland (can't be sure) and reaches speeds of 122 miles per hour.
What's insane is how close he comes to the ground at certain points in the flight, and just how freaking fast he's traveling. The on-person camera footage doesn't properly convey the sensation of speed, but check out the part of the video at 1:30—I assume he's trying to grab those balloons—and you'll see what I mean:

He's starting close to Rochers de Naye, above Montreux, Switzerland. At the eastern end of Lake Geneva. You can see the Valais Valley in front of him. Been up on Rochers de Naye a couple of times and it's beautiful. Also, what an amazing video.
Hmm. I've looked very carefully at the video now and I'm less certain that I'm correct about it's close to Rochers de Naye. Details in the valley in front of him doesn't look right. I'm not sure.
Living on the edge is not insane. Going your whole life without realizing your own godly power and human limitations is insanity.
Insane. I agree with Erik's second comment -- not Rochers de Naye. And certainly not Lausanne. My first thought is above Leysin but I'm not sure.
Possibly Thun, Switzerland... Fantastic video
dear friends
this spot is just above a small city called "walenstadt"
check google maps if you don't believe me
He's not trying to grab the balloons. They're just a marker, so he can steer for the clearing between the trees.
He isn't insane, in fact quite the opposite. While some of you may think think skydiving or wing suit flying is crazy. I can think of everyday things we do that are far more dangerous than this! He of course not an amateur. He has hundreds if not thousands of jumps under his belt.
