In this one-day workshop, Ruth Schmidt, senior innovation design strategist at Doblin will introduce behavioral finance, the major biases identified in the field, and how to think about them in relation to your industry. It will then introduce persuasive design and frameworks for designing for human behavior and improved outcomes in health, wellness, and personal and financial responsibility. bswing will host a cocktail reception the evening prior to the workshop for participants to meet.
About Ruth
Ruth Schmidt is a senior innovation design strategist who uses design methods to frame and solve complex innovation challenges. Since joining Doblin, Ruth has focused largely on non-profit and civic clients in the education and foundation spheres, tapping into her previous years of experience in digital learning.
Ruth currently serves on the leadership team of the Hive Chicago Learning Network and as an adjunct faculty member at the IIT Institute of Design. At the Institute, she advises students in behavioral economics, communication design, and semiotics, but does not teach them her secret skill of being able to write backwards.
About the event series
bswing and IIT Institute of Design have joined forces to seed new practices and encourage cross-fertilization in the Twin Cities design and business communities. Starting in Fall 2015, faculty from ID will lead a series of executive education workshop and design-related experiences ranging from innovation portfolio planning for product managers to a community design challenge for urban community development.
