Be Original Americas, the nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for the value of original design, has developed an unparalleled fellowship opportunity for two college students to gain real world experience about all it takes to make, distribute, and sell great design from industry's leading companies in New York City and across the country.
In this 7-week program, which will run from June 13 – August 2, 2016, Be Original Americas fellows will be introduced to all facets of creating original products from research, design, and manufacturing to marketing, sales, and distribution through hands-on, in-the-field learning from the perspective of various Be Original Americas member companies. Participating member companies include: Bernhardt Design, Carnegie, Chilewich, Design Within Reach, Emeco, Herman Miller, Ligne Roset, and Vitra.
The Be Original Summer Fellowship program is open to undergraduate students who have completed at least three years of study and who reside in the United States. The application deadline is April 18, 2016, and the two fellows who best meet the application criteria will be announced on May 6, 2016.
