Grant Program Supporting Design and
Communication Projects for Nonprofits Deadline: July 7, 2017 The Ideas
that Matter program recognizes and supports designers who partner with
nonprofit organizations to bring great communication projects to life. The
program is funded and managed by Sappi in North America as part of its
commitment to corporate social responsibility and the design community. Sappi
is the leading producer of high quality Coated Printing Papers,
including McCoy, Opus, Somerset and Flo used for premium magazines, catalogs,
books and high-end print advertising. Since its inception in 1999, Ideas that Matter
has awarded $13 million in grants that have gone to assist more than 500
projects addressing a variety of social issues—from diversity and human rights
campaigns to health and youth development. The call for entries is open to
designers working for nonprofit organizations, individual designers, design
firms, agencies, in-house corporate design departments, design instructors,
individual design students and design student groups in North America. Grant
awards range from $5,000 to $50,000 per project. Applications must be
