The school of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University has a long history of providing design education in Hong Kong. Since 1967, the School has taken a world lead in establishing a new, integrated and multi-disciplinary design curriculum, encompassing disciplines such as industrial design, environmental design, visual communication design and interactive system design, as well as investigating the relationship of various design disciplines to culture and theory.
The newly developed Master programmes are characterised by the integration of design, technology and business. The programmes aim at developing strong process-oriented skills with ah new design knowledge structure that goes beyond traditional forms of integrating design and engineering. The one-year full-time postgraduate programme even provides an international study environment with multi-national faculty and students from different countries.
