ICFF's vast exhibition space at the Jacob K. Javits center offers a dizzying encyclopedic landscape of design today. This year, the event's 27th anniversary, the show was bigger than ever, taking over 247,000 square feet with more than 700 exhibitors. The comprehensive survey presents a cross section of design today with showings from established powerhouses, national pavilions, exploratory pop-ups, and initiatives to highlight emerging and student designers. Some of the recurring trends we spotted are innovations in the LED lighting sector—like Bec Brittain's tropical installation—and an interesting push using reclaimed materials—Uhuru's wooden stools are carved out of beams from the old Domino Sugar Factory and Jasper Morrison's collection for Emeco uses 100% reclaimed materials which are crafted by Amish craftsmen.

This year's ICFF exhibition at the Javits center was phenomenal. While their chairs and stools were certainly a high-light, I wonder if they'll have more modern office solutions such as leaning devices next year. If they do, hopefully they'll be featuring StandUpStand's wooden model: http://imgur.com/a/VtGmc
