Portland-based chef Colleen French of the Renegade Dinner Club has joined forces with American design collective Von Tundra to create an installation and series of dinner-based events in Specific Merchandise, a storefront gallery in Los Angeles. They'll fill the space with hand-made furniture and tableware, and invite you to a series of home-cooked meals.
The goal is simple: "to share our craft-based practices with the community and create tangible connections between Slow Food and Slow Design."
They need a little bit of help funding it, so they've turned to Kickstarter. For your pledge, you'll get a special food or design item from Colleen French or Von Tundra. For example, for $20, you'll get French's recipe booklet. For $75, you'll get a pair of quilted hot pads designed and made by Von Tundra. Not a bad deal at all!
