Glancing at Adityaraj Dev's renderings of motorcycle's on his Coroflot page is a reminder to the elegance of classic, simple renderings. Educated and practicing as a product designer, Dev boasts his transportation sketching skills through this series. With the abundance of clean and glossy computer renderings its refreshing to see a clean style using "older" techniques.

The level of eye candy is not the same compared to ones we saw of Andrew McMillan's renderings. However their is a level of appreciation of conveying beauty through simple analog methods.

As a design student its inspiring to see such skill in wielding a simple Prismacolor pencil and the results that are produced.

Throughout this series only ballpoint pens, pencils, and permanent markers are used.

First, I apologize if you took personal offense. None was meant. As you mention, there is dominant precedence of other designers designing parked bikes. The issue with conceptualizing motorcycles as most designers do, is that they neglect the primary challenge of motorcycle design. Making attractive lines and good presentation may be fine for static products, but the motorcycle is far more challenging. I am not speaking as designer as I am an engineer, but I speak as a consumer. Myself a rider for over 16 years, I am weary of static motorcycle concepts and am challenging designers to design the rider and riding experience, not just the assembly. Example: http://www.knucklebusterinc.com/features/2010/07/15/1930-art-deco-henderson/ This custom beauty is one of the finest full-fender motorcycles. It is a phenomenal sculpture, but scroll down to find that it is a terrible motorcycle. While technically "ridable" it's design failed to include the rider. It's one thing to have a sweet looking ride. It's a whole other thing to look sweet riding it.

Hello Ken, You indeed are sounding like a bad than a broken record here, without knowing the background of how I approached and practiced my skills people like you find it fun ruining someone's post. The motorcycle renderings are from my school days done with poster colours from 9th grade. I never considered postures much during school days as I was learning first how to sketch motorcycles. talking about this post, It is regarding the skills I developed with the time and pencils. these are not motorcycle projects. If you want to have a look at my motorcycle projects view my page on coroflot. Please explore and browse through coroflot, you will see a lot of motorcycle projects where there are concepts and renderings which are made by not considering the rider as they are concepts. my motorcycle renderings or sketches above are random. Thanks for have bothered.

I'm willing to sound like a broken record, but I will relentlessly argue this stance: Motorcycle design is sh!t if it doesn't incorporate a rider.

Flotspotting: The Minimalist Stylings of Kirsty Whyte

After completing her degree at Nottingham Trent in 2003, designer Kirsty Whyte spent some time at Sweden's Kalmar University, studying glass design, before establishing her own shop in London in 2008. She's spent the past year in Shanghai to explore the relationship between development and manufacturing, and she's glad to...

Flotspotting: "E-Clips" Action Camera Concept by Christopher Terella

Industrial designer Christopher Terella's "E-Clips" action camera dates back to 2010, but with the continued growth of the category—led by the popular GoPro—it might make a strong contender today. The thoroughly thought-out concept—"designed for the action sports enthusiast who wants to capture the fun but also participate"—features a bluetooth wristband...

Auxano Home Hydroponic System by Philip Houiellebecq

Those of us who don't have the space (or disposable income) to accommodate custom terrariums or a functional hydroponic 'island' might be interested in "Auxano," Philip Houiellebecq's concept for a more practical home hydroponic system. Like the "Volet Végétal" stowaway garden, the Cardiff-based designer's planter soaks up the excess...
